The workplace is an environment that can harm your smile more than you might realize. With the coffee, treats, and food available at all times, plaque and food particles can cling to and harm your pearly whites. If you’re interested in keeping a strong and healthy smile at the office, we recommend taking a break and cleaning your teeth at least once a day. To help you successfully do so, we are happy to provide the following tips:

· Keep a toothbrush handy at your desk. Make sure it’s a soft-bristled toothbrush and try to brush as often as possible with fluoride toothpaste. We also recommend keeping floss at your desk as well. That way you can frequently clean the hard-to-reach areas of your smile that your toothbrush could not clean.

· Brush your teeth right after you finish eating lunch. Do your best to make this a priority. This task will not only help you maintain a strong and healthy smile, but it will also help you avoid the embarrassing moments of having food stuck in your teeth and having bad breath.

· After you brush, dry the bristles and keep the toothbrush in a travel container.

· Replace your toothbrush more often than your brush at home because there tends to be more bacteria and germs at the office.

Your smile is important to Dr. James S. Parham and our dental team, and we strongly recommend that you take good care of your teeth as much as possible. However, we understand that smile care can be a bit confusing at times, so if you have any questions, please feel free to call 479-756-8631 and talk to our dental team. We are happy to help you!
