If you struggle with dental anxiety or unaddressed dental phobia, you might feel reticent to seek the necessary oral care to maintain a healthy mouth. This can cause problems with periodontal disease, or allow an untreated cavity to worsen.

Cavities have a tendency to grow in size once they have become established in an area of demineralized, or otherwise compromised tooth enamel. It’s also worth noting that the process of tooth decay can be accelerated if you fail to maintain consistent oral hygiene practices.

In time, the compromised dental structure could cause the tooth to severely fracture or become so compromised by infection that Dr. James S. Parham needs to extract it. This is a treatment of last resort intended to prevent a more dangerous infection from developing in your gums.

After the local soft tissues have healed, Dr. James S. Parham might be able to restore the tooth by installing a dental bridge. This solid piece of dental work that mimics the appearance of a natural tooth. It also incorporates a dental crown on each end.

The dental bridge will eventually be anchored onto the two nearest teeth.

When the dental bridge is ready, our dentist will cement it in place with a strong dental adhesive.
